I’m dedicating an additional post specially to the ‘Joyful Angels’ gospel choir concert at Montefegatesi. I mentioned them in my post on the delightful Christmas crib itinerary that, last Sunday, the Montefegatesians put on for the delectation of visitors to their very distinctive village. The beautifully refurbished Montefegatesi village hall, restored to its original function as a theatre complete with proscenium arch, was inaugurated by the’ Joyful Angels’.
The choir’s director, Andrea Salvoni, a hugely talented and multi-faceted person and a great friend to have, apologised for the fact that the choir was at half strength. He need not have worried; in fact, the acoustics of the charming little theatre were absolutely suited to the reduced size of the choir present.
I took the opportunity to record a few extracts from their performance. I think you will agree they are a very special choir indeed and are lucky to have Andrea as their conductor.
