There was a mediaeval medley on the San Paolino bulwark, Lucca during yesterday’s stormy Sunday.
This included chain-mail and full armour combat:

accurate archery (cross-bows, long bows are only for the English):

trades, handicrafts, fortune-telling, clog-making ad lib:

jolly jestering, and hurdy-gurding within the guilds’ pavilion to avoid the rain:

and even a lecture on the Black Death. Our afternoon was truly diversified..

From Alexandra Pettitt: The lecture was very interesting but obviously gruesome! The whole display of events was over two days and will be replicated next year. We attended cross bow prize giving single and group winners. The entertainers were absolutely hilarious and very entertaining for both young and old! The stalls were fascinating with period items such as natural skin care soaps talcs, games, musical instruments sadly shut early due to stormy weather. An afternoon well spent till it lasted !
