We were at Hammersmith’s Art Deco Apollo theatre yesterday to see Shen Yun perform Chinese classical folk and ethnic dances. Trained at the Fei Tian Academy in New York and accompanied by an orchestra that includes Chinese instruments they presented a seductive show with a subtle political agenda associated with the Falun Gong movement banned in China. For me it was the first time I’d seen their dancing. Sandra had seen them in Florence five years ago. But where was I then? Careggi!

Formatosi alla Fei Tian Academy di New York e accompagnati da un’orchestra che include strumenti cinesi, hanno presentato uno spettacolo seducente con un sottile programma politico associato al movimento Falun Gong, bandito in Cina.
