We (and all our town and surrounding villages) are isolated from the outside world! The immensity of rain that has fallen (and is falling) has created landslides that not only have blocked our alternative route to Lucca via Calavorno (the main route of the Brennero had been blocked for some time now because of a previous landslide) but it seems that ‘rat runs’ (better, ‘otter runs’) via the little mountain roads to Tereglio and Corsagna are blocked too…not surprising, just look at my photos of the river yesterday.

The Brennero road may be opened for emergency access. However, I can’t help thinking that a new bridge over the Serchio – from Fornoli to the opposite bank at Pian della Rocca, two locations without any fear of landslides as they are not surrounded by steep hillsides – should be again considered.

Noi (e tutta la nostra città e i villaggi circostanti) siamo isolati dal mondo esterno! L’immensità della pioggia caduta (e che sta cadendo) ha creato delle frane che non solo hanno bloccato la nostra via alternativa per Lucca (via Calavorno: la via principale del Brennero e’ stata bloccata da tempo a causa di una precedente frana) ma sembra che anche le “corsie dei topi” (meglio, “corsie delle lontre”) attraverso le stradine di montagna per Tereglio e Corsagna siano bloccate… non sorprende, basta guardare le mie foto del fiume ieri.
