It’s getting hard to keep up with the plethora of summer events in our little corner of the world especially as we are experiencing some of the hottest temperatures now touching forties centigrade. Yesterday, however, we managed two events:
First was the poetry corner at Montefegatesi where, in the company of local leading poets, our contributions were also appreciated and where we enjoyed violinist Pietro Centofanti’s excellent renditions of Mozart and Paganini.
Second was our visit to Villa Webb for rising harpsichord star Tommaso Nicoli’s recital where, in impeccable style, he performed baroque pieces from Bohm to the two Scarlattis.
Both Centofanti and Nicoli have strong family links with Bagni di Lucca and point to the rich talent this area is able to produce!
Sta diventando difficile tenere il passo con la miriade di eventi estivi nel nostro piccolo angolo di mondo, soprattutto perché stiamo vivendo alcune delle temperature più calde, che ora sfiorano i quaranta gradi. Ieri, tuttavia, siamo riusciti a visitare due eventi:
Il primo è stato l’angolo della poesia a Montefegatesi, dove, in compagnia di importanti poeti locali, i nostri contributi sono stati apprezzati e dove abbiamo potuto apprezzare le eccellenti interpretazioni di Mozart e Paganini del violinista Pietro Centofanti.
Il secondo è stata la nostra visita a Villa Webb per il recital dell’astro nascente del clavicembalo Tommaso Nicoli, che, con stile impeccabile, ha eseguito brani barocchi da Bohm alle due Scarlatti.
Sia Centofanti che Nicoli hanno forti legami familiari con Bagni di Lucca e questo è un chiaro esempio del ricco talento che questa zona è in grado di produrre!
