Primo Conti from Florence was the youngest of the futurist painters. Recently, we were able to visit Primo’s villa on the Fiesole hillside which houses a large collection of his works. Looking at them we could see that he was well-acquainted with Balla and Marinetti. Conti also learnt much from Cezanne and was friendly with the metaphysical artist Giorgio de Chirico. We were the only visitors that morning and we felt we were wandering through our own private gallery. Nearby is a painters’ laboratory which runs courses for all ages. Around us the gentle hills stretched out in all their beauty.

Primo Conti da Firenze era il più giovane dei pittori futuristi. Di recente, abbiamo potuto visitare la sua villa sulla collina di Fiesole, che ospita una vasta collezione delle sue opere. Guardandole, abbiamo potuto vedere che conosceva Balla e Marinetti. Conti ha anche imparato molto da Cezanne ed è stato amico dell’artista metafisico Giorgio de Chirico. Eravamo gli unici visitatori quella mattina e ci siamo sentiti come se stessimo vagando nella nostra galleria privata. Nelle vicinanze c’è un laboratorio di pittura che tiene corsi per tutte le età.
